I know that some of you lovely swing dancers out there have inquired with me (Liz) on how I do my (very limited) vintage hairstyles, any tips I can supply on getting that vintage hairstyle look etc. Now I can talk you ear off for days but I cannot show you very well (I’m so not a teacher), so that is where this wonderful workshop comes in on Sunday Sept 22nd: 1-6 pm.
Your instructor is Larissa (Blonde Moxie). Larissa has been specializing in vintage hairstyling techniques for several years, her work has graced the stages of burlesque shows and pin up photoshoots all across the city. To her, its a lifestyle and she wants to teach you how you can make it yours!
She was also was the hair and makeup stylist for my 1950’s wedding and she was so amazing, not only on my hair but also my bridesmaids. Ladies she knows her stuff! Here is a pic of my incredible wedding hair.
Cost: $100 + hst… …Vintage hairstyles are very popular these days – look at Dita Von Teese, Gwen Stefani and Katy Perry! Have you ever wanted to learn how to achieve these beautiful looks but never thought you could? Now you can learn how to do them on yourself and others in this afternoon workshop with Larissa. In this afternoon workshop you will learn 3 standard vintage looks with different ways to achieve them. You will learn to do Victory rolls (and any other rolls you may be curious to try), Veronica Lake waves and simplified Fingerwaves. You will also have a chance to bring in any ideas or styles you’d like to try your hand at – feel free to bring in photos for inspiration.
Space is very limited, pre-registration required. Please call Alchemy Center at 416-838-9837 or email us: info@alchemycenter.com
Hi,
I’m actually looking for a vintage hairstylist. I’d like to do a pinup style for an occasion and wanted to know if there’s anyone available to do my hair.
Thank you,
Christina
