UPDATE (Feb 2024): TLH is not currently offering classes or workshops but we are hosting on June 1st, 2024 a dance for World Lindy Hop Day.
Swing Toronto is now running classes and workshops, and hosting Saturday Night Swing, which includes a drop-in Lindy Hop beginner class before the dance party. What to Expect & Things to Know
No Partner Needed
Just bring yourself, no partner is ever needed. You CAN bring a partner and you can request to dance with only them if you wish (we rotate partners in class). Just let us know when you arrive.
We Rotate Partners
Rotation of partners in class is the best way to learn to dance in a social setting.
Cost to Learn
Pricing varies depending on what is being taught and if you are taking only 1 class or multiple. Once classes start up, costs will be posted. NOTE: It’s a very affordable dance with classes being between $10-$20.
What to Wear
Comfortable shoes! Lindy Hop is a bouncy, circular dance so being able to spin and move around easily is a must. As for clothes, wear whatever makes you comfortable.
What Kind of Music is Played
Lindy Hop is a dance that originated in the 1930s during the Big Band Era, so that is typically what you will hear..Swing Music. It can be modern or from that time period depends on who is teaching the class.
