World of Floorcraft
TLH’s World of Floorcraft program was created to promote good floorcraft in the Toronto scene, and we need your help!
The objective of the program is to improve floorcraft in Toronto through modelling, positive encouragement and promotion.
What does this mean?
Modelling: Practice what we preach! Through TLH members, friends, colleagues and the Dance Ambassador program, we want to show by example what good floorcraft looks like. This means being aware of our surroundings when dancing and apologizing when we bump into others.
Positive encouragement: Acknowledging good floorcraft when we see it! If you see a fellow dancer practicing good floorcraft on the dance floor, let them know! We want to focus on celebrating positive feedback in our community to improve floorcraft throughout the Toronto scene.
Promotion: We see good floorcraft as natural part of integrating and welcoming new dancers to our scene. We encourage all dancers to talk to each other and to new dancers about being aware of other dancers on the floor and for each dancer to practice good floorcraft as a part of their own dancing.
